Director, Legal Programs

Location: Remote from the United States; listed location is Austin, Texas. The role includes 25% travel.

Annual salary: $140,000–$180,000, plus bonus or incentive pay.

What you will do

• Lead complex Legal Operations initiatives by developing project plans, managing risks and dependencies, and delivering against agreed objectives.
• Establish project management standards, governance routines, performance reporting, and operating cadences.
• Coach project managers and initiative leads while strengthening program management capabilities.
• Coordinate cross-functional workstreams with Legal, Compliance, Finance, Human Resources, DBS, and business stakeholders.
• Apply DBS tools and continuous improvement practices to improve processes and achieve sustainable results.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and 7+ years of experience leading complex cross-functional programs, projects, or operational initiatives in a matrixed organization.
• At least 2 years of experience leading people, coaching team members, or developing project and program management capabilities through direct or indirect leadership.
• Experience establishing project governance, operating cadences, performance metrics, status reporting, and execution routines.
• Experience with DBS, Lean, continuous improvement, operational excellence, or similar business system methodologies.
• Experience managing concurrent initiatives, stakeholders, risks, dependencies, and competing priorities, with communication to senior leaders.

Nice to have

• Experience in Legal Operations, Compliance Operations, Corporate Functions, or another business support environment.
• Experience supporting enterprise-wide system, process, or operating model initiatives.
• DBS certification or demonstrated experience applying DBS tools and methodologies.
