Software Engineer - Poker (Go)

Location: Austin, Texas, or the Bay Area, California

Salary: $85,700–$126,860 per year in California at the start of employment

What you will do

• Develop poker features and gameplay functionality in Go.
• Build and integrate APIs, services, tools, technologies, and SDKs.
• Extend core systems and contribute to high-performance, large-scale applications.
• Collaborate with engineers and cross-functional stakeholders on long-term development efforts.
• Improve team processes, review code, and maintain secure coding practices.
• Identify scalability concerns, technical risks, and opportunities for system improvements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent education and experience.
• At least 2 years of software development experience in the game industry or mobile applications, including shipped or live games.
• Strong working knowledge of Go, C#, and HTML.
• Experience implementing APIs and services with gRPC and REST.
• Knowledge of data structures, algorithms, software development lifecycle practices, testing, operations, source control, and build processes.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively.

Nice to have

• Experience with Unity, Git, Jenkins, performance profiling, and optimization.
• Knowledge of Docker, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Kafka, Redis, AWS, Protobuf, and monitoring tools such as Bugsnag, Splunk/ELK, or Datadog.
• Experience with multiplayer or realtime systems.
