Principal Product Manager (AI/API Strategy)

Location: Mountain View, California; Atlanta, Georgia; or New York, New York, United States

Salary: $243,000–$328,500 in Mountain View or $240,000–$325,000 in New York annually

What you will do

• Define the multi-year strategy for Mailchimp’s public APIs, developer portal, and official MCP server.
• Own developer-ecosystem pillars covering federated APIs, developer experience, third-party app lifecycle management, and trust and governance.
• Map partner data objects and events into Mailchimp audiences, events, campaigns, journeys, segments, and automations.
• Lead modernization of the developer portal, interactive documentation, SDKs, CLI, sandbox, OpenAPI specifications, and agent manifests.
• Establish MCP governance covering tools, serving runtime, OAuth scopes, auditability, certification, and ownership.
• Coordinate with Engineering, AI/ML, Design, Partnerships, Security, Privacy, Support, and Go-to-Market teams on cross-organization platform initiatives.

Requirements

• 10+ years of product management experience building platforms and APIs at scale.
• Deep knowledge of agentic systems, LLMs, MCP, REST/OpenAPI, OAuth 2.0, scopes, rate limiting, webhooks, versioning, sandboxes, and SDK or CLI generation.
• Experience shipping MCP servers or equivalent agent-callable interfaces.
• Track record delivering platform capabilities for external developers or partner ecosystems, including marketplace or certification programs.
• Strong architecture, systems thinking, communication, and cross-organizational leadership skills.
• Must work from one of the listed United States locations.

• Experience with AI-driven platforms, partner ecosystems, or API platforms.
