Senior Automation Engineer (DCS/PLC)

What you will do

• Design, develop, deploy, and improve plant automation architecture based on ISA-95 standards and IT/OT convergence principles.
• Engineer and maintain DCS, PLC, and SCADA control systems, including ABB 800xA and Siemens platforms.
• Diagnose PLC control loops, communication issues, equipment malfunctions, and other complex shop-floor OT problems.
• Provide technical leadership and subject-matter expertise to production teams, including root cause analysis and corrective and preventive actions.
• Support equipment and production-line installation, commissioning, FAT, SAT, IQ, OQ, and operational handover.
• Train operators and technicians on new equipment and production processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Automation, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related engineering field.
• 5–8 years of hands-on automation engineering experience in manufacturing environments.
• In-depth knowledge of automation pyramids and ISA-95 architecture.
• Proficiency in at least one mainstream control system: ABB DCS systems such as 800xA, or Siemens PLC systems such as Step 7 and TIA Portal.
• Experience with Ladder Logic, SCL, FBD, field commissioning, control-loop troubleshooting, and industrial communication issues.
• Experience supporting biopharmaceutical, life sciences, or fine chemical production is preferred for the manufacturing environment.

Nice to have

• Experience with bioreactors, chromatography systems, or resin media production lines.
• Shift supervision experience and willingness to support production shifts.
• Cross-functional coordination and technical leadership within project teams.
