Mobile Android Developer (Jetpack Compose & Kotlin)

Location: Remote within the United States; collaboration across EST, CST, and PST business hours

What you will do

• Design and build scalable, responsive Android interfaces with Jetpack Compose.
• Implement MVVM architecture within a multi-module Gradle project.
• Integrate RESTful APIs with Retrofit, manage local persistence with Room, and implement asynchronous flows with Kotlin Coroutines and Flow.
• Use Hilt for dependency injection and maintain clean, production-ready code.
• Write unit and UI tests with JUnit, MockK, Espresso, and Compose UI Testing.
• Diagnose and optimize app performance, memory management, render times, and network efficiency while participating in code reviews.

Requirements

• 4+ years of professional experience developing native Android applications.
• Expert proficiency in Kotlin and modern Android development, including Jetpack Compose.
• Deep understanding of MVVM, Coroutines, Flow, asynchronous programming, Hilt, Room, and Retrofit.
• Experience with multi-module Gradle projects, modularization, unit testing, UI testing, and Git.
• Ability to work remotely while collaborating during US Eastern, Central, and Pacific business hours.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, independent delivery, and Agile collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with large-scale consumer eCommerce or transactional mobile applications.
• Familiarity with mobile CI/CD pipelines such as Bitrise or GitHub Actions.
