Android Developer (Construction Tech) (Kotlin/Jetpack Compose): Building and maintaining scalable Android applications for workforce tracking and access management on construction sites with an accent on modern mobile architecture, hardware integration, and maintainability. Focus on integrating NFC, Bluetooth, and Camera SDKs, modernizing legacy codebases, and solving performance issues in business-critical applications.

Development of digital products for workforce management, construction site operations, and worker safety in collaboration with a sustainable European product company headquartered in Sweden.

What you will do

  • Design, develop, and maintain Android applications using Kotlin and Jetpack Compose.
  • Build scalable features for workforce presence tracking and construction site access management.
  • Integrate native Android capabilities, including NFC, Bluetooth, and Camera SDKs.
  • Refactor, optimize, and modernize existing Android codebases and resolve performance issues.
  • Participate in architecture discussions, technical decisions, peer reviews, and the full software development lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with iOS engineers, QA specialists, backend developers, and product stakeholders while supporting CI/CD initiatives.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of commercial Android development experience.
  • Strong Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, Coroutines, Flow, Retrofit, and Android SDK skills.
  • Experience with MVVM, Clean Architecture, dependency injection, unit testing, OOP, algorithms, data structures, and design patterns.
  • Ability to independently drive feature development and technical solutions in agile distributed teams.
  • Intermediate or higher English level.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.

Nice to have

  • Experience with Java, XML, Android Data Binding, and modernization of legacy Android applications.
  • Experience migrating XML-based interfaces and legacy navigation to Jetpack Compose and Navigation Compose.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, release automation, scripting, and process automation.
  • Experience using AI-assisted engineering tools and a portfolio of published Android applications.
