Salary: $21.63–$30.85, performance-based flat-rate compensation

What you will do

• Diagnose and repair brake, hydraulic, exhaust, fuel, ignition, electrical, suspension, alignment, air conditioning, and computer systems.
• Explain technical diagnoses and recommended repairs to customers and other non-mechanical individuals.
• Assist with and train technicians and mechanics on technical activities.
• Maintain current automotive knowledge through paid formal training.
• Obtain or maintain ASE certifications in at least three of the A1–A8 areas within the first two years.

Requirements

• Valid automobile driver’s license and ability to drive customer and company vehicles.
• Demonstrated skill in brake and hydraulic systems and/or steering, suspension, and alignments.
• Experience with general automotive maintenance and tire repair.
• Current federal, state, and local certifications or licenses where applicable.
• Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical people, with reading, writing, and math skills.
• Employment requires completion of Form I-9 verification; temporary work authorization or the need for sponsorship may disqualify candidates.

Nice to have

• Three years of automotive repair experience, third-party assessments or certifications, or completion of a vocational-technical program.
• ASE certification in at least one A1–A8 area; L1 certification is acceptable.
