Automotive Lead Technician

Location: Englewood, United States; on-site retail automotive service

Salary: $26.51–$47.24 per hour through a performance-based flat-rate compensation model.

What you will do

• Diagnose and repair brake, hydraulic, exhaust, fuel, ignition, electrical, suspension, alignment, air conditioning, and computer systems.
• Explain technical diagnoses and required repairs to customers without a mechanical background.
• Assist with and train technicians and mechanics on technical activities.
• Stay current with automotive technology through paid formal training.
• Obtain or maintain A.S.E. certifications in at least five A1–A8 areas within the first two years.

Requirements

• Valid automobile driver’s license and ability to drive customer and company vehicles.
• Experience diagnosing and repairing brakes, alignment, steering, suspension, general automotive systems, and tires.
• Applicable federal, state, and local certifications or licenses.
• Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical customers, with basic reading, writing, and math skills.
• Employment eligibility verification is required; temporary work authorization or the need for sponsorship may disqualify candidates.

Nice to have

• Experience with electrical and electronic systems, engine repair and performance, transmissions, drivetrains, or automotive heating and air conditioning.
• Five years of automotive repair experience, demonstrated skills through third-party assessments or certifications, or completion of a vocational-technical program.
• A.S.E. certification in at least three A1–A8 areas, preferably brakes and steering and suspension.
