Engineer I – Process (Poly/Nit Etch)

Location: Colorado Springs, Colorado, United States; first shift; travel 0–25%

Annual base salary: $70,000–$110,000, plus restricted stock units and quarterly bonuses

What you will do

• Monitor and optimize etch tool performance and correlate inline process monitors with parametric measurements.
• Establish and document equipment and process operating specifications, including OCAPS for all processes.
• Design, coordinate, and perform experiments to develop processes and improve manufacturing techniques.
• Maintain data for monitoring and controlling critical Poly/Nit processes while reducing process variation.
• Troubleshoot process, device, equipment, and lot issues and provide dispositions when required.
• Lead technical projects, analyze results, train support personnel, and present findings to management and cross-functional groups.

Requirements

• BS degree in a related engineering discipline; chemistry, chemical engineering, physics, or materials science preferred.
• General knowledge of engineering practices for sustaining, troubleshooting, modifying, improving, and developing integrated circuit manufacturing processes.
• Knowledge of mathematics, chemistry, mechanics, materials, electrical systems, physics, probability, and statistics.
• Ability to analyze technical information, apply statistical and mathematical methods, define problems, collect data, and draw valid conclusions.
• Ability to communicate effectively and lead problem-solving and quality-improvement activities.
• Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry approximately 50 lbs and work around dust, gases, fumes, electrical hazards, and mechanical hazards.

Nice to have

• MS degree or PhD in a related engineering discipline.
• Familiarity with MATLAB, Mathematica, LabVIEW, or JMP.
• Project management capability and experience supporting and developing technicians.
• Competency with mechanical, vacuum, computer, and electrical systems used in semiconductor processing equipment, especially wafer-processing troubleshooting.
