Test Development Engineer (Semiconductor)

Location: Bloomington, Minnesota, USA; onsite at the office and manufacturing facility

Salary: $100,000–$130,000 per year

What you will do

• Provide technical and sustaining engineering support for parametric and functional semiconductor testing.
• Program, debug, and improve automated test equipment and test programs, primarily using C.
• Develop and run design of experiments and statistical process control analyses to identify yield loss and quality issues.
• Support early process development and production ramp-up, including training, documentation, troubleshooting, and productivity enhancements.
• Use statistical tools to trace failures to fabrication areas and communicate findings to product and process engineering teams.
• Maintain tester standards and Gauge R&R, and develop troubleshooting and verification code for test equipment.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, physics, or a related microelectronics engineering field.
• 5+ years of experience in semiconductor testing.
• Knowledge of semiconductor device physics, fabrication processes, and characterization techniques.
• Proficiency in C programming in Linux or Windows environments.
• Experience with data-handling tools such as Excel, JMP, or MATLAB.
• Strong problem-solving, technical writing, and communication skills.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree.
• Experience with automatic parametric test or reliability test systems.
• Semiconductor CAD tool experience.
