AI Developer (Software Engineering, Junior Analyst)

Location: Washington, DC; hybrid schedule required

Salary: $80,000–$103,000 per year

What you will do

• Set up AI development environments in cloud-based and closed-system infrastructures.
• Monitor and manage AI API services and research current AI models for business, IT, and cybersecurity use cases.
• Use LLMs, ML, data analytics applications, and business applications with integrated LLMs to develop prototypes and customer solutions.
• Create client demonstrations and demonstrate AI use cases.
• Install and maintain open-source AI models on local hardware and closed networks.
• Develop and deploy web-based applications.

Requirements

• Software development experience with applied use of LLMs and/or ML.
• Ability to architect and implement AI-enabled applications using platforms such as OpenAI, Anthropic, Google Gemini, xAI, Microsoft Copilot, and open-source models.
• BA/BS degree in Information Technology or a relevant business field.
• Secret security clearance.
• Availability for approximately 25% travel.

Nice to have

• Python experience.
• MS Azure and Power Suite experience.
• Experience fine-tuning or training language models.
• Experience training custom ML models.
