Senior Technical Account Manager – Gate Model Research (Quantum Computing)

Location: New Haven, Connecticut, United States; onsite or hybrid for candidates within a commutable distance. The role requires 30%–50% travel to conferences, client meetings, training sessions, and sales events.

What you will do

• Advise research customers on quantum computing programming workflows, including best practices for D-Wave’s Ocean SDK and Leap APIs.
• Help customers debug code, identify use cases, solve complex computational problems, and adopt the platform using error-aware quantum algorithms.
• Present quantum computing capabilities, product strategy, and roadmap to technical and executive stakeholders.
• Lead technical meetings, presentations, webinars, seminars, conferences, and other customer or industry events.
• Build long-term technical relationships, identify new project opportunities, and communicate customer requirements to internal product and development teams.
• Collaborate with sales, product, professional services, marketing, and business development teams to deliver customer value.

Requirements

• PhD in Physics, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related STEM field.
• Fluent English required.
• 5+ years of hands-on Python and Qiskit programming experience.
• Strong foundation in quantum information science, quantum computing, and standard gate-model quantum computing algorithms.
• Experience with GitHub and REST APIs.
• Ability to communicate complex technical content clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Postdoctoral experience.
• Specialization in quantum chemistry, quantum machine learning, or materials science.
• Technical customer-facing experience in enterprise software, presales, sales engineering, technical account management, solution integration, solution architecture, or customer success.
• Project management experience.
• Contributions to quantum computing applications, quantum error correction, or quantum computing algorithms.
