Controls Install Technician (HVAC)

Location: Knoxville, Tennessee, United States. Field-based work conducted on-site at customer locations, with occasional overnight stays and overtime as required.

Hourly base pay: $21.96–$41.60 per hour.

What you will do

• Pull wire, run conduit, install, commission, and program HVAC and direct digital control systems.
• Set up graphics and communications links, perform end-to-end testing, and troubleshoot assigned projects.
• Verify points, validate sequences of operation, and complete project closeout documentation.
• Serve as the direct customer contact while diagnosing and repairing equipment and systems on-site.
• Coordinate installation and repair requirements with the team leader and customer, including materials and on-site scheduling.
• Maintain safety standards and accurate records for company-issued and procured assets.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Typically 3–5 years of HVAC or controls experience; at least 1 year of electrical and/or commercial HVAC controls or building automation experience is required for consideration.
• Previous experience with direct digital control systems is preferred.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and handheld devices such as smartphones or iPads.
• Valid driver’s license held for at least 12 months, with no major or frequent traffic violations or preventable collisions in the previous three years.
• Technical school or formal technical training is preferred.
