Staff Security Engineer, Product & Platform Security

Location: Houston, New York, San Francisco, or Seattle, United States

Salary: $190,000–$230,000 USD annual base salary, plus potential bonus, equity, and/or commission.

What you will do

• Lead security reviews for products, cloud platforms, APIs, hyperscale GPU clusters, and supporting infrastructure.
• Conduct threat modeling and architecture reviews, and guide secure design, coding, authentication, authorization, data protection, and infrastructure security.
• Analyze, validate, prioritize, and coordinate remediation of vulnerabilities using CVSS and technical and business impact assessments.
• Design and scale bug bounty and responsible disclosure programs, including researcher communications, triage, scope, rewards, and resolution workflows.
• Support incident classification, escalation, root-cause analysis, remediation tracking, and audit documentation.
• Measure security KPIs, identify systemic risks and technical debt, monitor emerging threats, and improve security controls and awareness.

Requirements

• 10+ years of information security experience, including substantial hands-on work in product security, application security, platform security, or vulnerability management.
• Deep expertise in threat modeling, security architecture, vulnerability assessment, secure coding, CVSS scoring, vulnerability prioritization, and risk quantification.
• Experience partnering with software, platform, and infrastructure engineering teams throughout the development lifecycle.
• Proficiency with vulnerability scanners, application security tooling, SIEM platforms, EDR tools, and GRC systems.
• Experience with responsible disclosure, bug bounty programs, incident response, penetration testing, and multi-stakeholder remediation.
• Experience securing GPU/HPC or cloud infrastructure, including AWS, GCP, or Azure, plus knowledge of Kubernetes, containers, APIs, identity and access management, and hybrid cloud architectures.
