Moderation Quality Assurance Specialist (AI)

Location: San Jose, United States; fully in-person schedule up to 5 days per week

What you will do

• Assess moderation quality across internal and external moderation sites and ensure compliance with platform policies and processes.
• Review images, video, and text, including graphic and disturbing material, and apply policy decisions to protect user safety.
• Conduct weekly audits, calibration sessions, quality deep dives, root cause analyses, and data validation for moderation queues.
• Analyze quantitative and qualitative QA data, identify trends and performance gaps, and deliver actionable recommendations to leadership and partner teams.
• Develop automated reporting, dashboards, quality metrics, monthly reports, business reviews, and experiment frameworks.
• Evaluate AI moderation model accuracy, reasoning quality, and failure patterns, while coordinating improvements with vendors, analytics, product, training, and operations stakeholders.

Requirements

• BA/BS degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience in content moderation, quality assurance, or a related area.
• 3+ years of experience in Trust & Safety or a similar industry, including 2+ years in quality assurance, reporting, analytics, or operational excellence.
• Experience with moderation policy labels or enforcement actions for media content and a strong focus on user safety and platform integrity.
• Experience preparing analysis reports, conducting root cause analyses, and turning data into clear recommendations for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ability to identify problems, understand stakeholder needs, communicate constructively, and work independently through ambiguity and changing priorities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and PowerPoint, or similar tools.

Nice to have

• Expert knowledge of QA auditing, root cause analysis, and calibration processes.
• Experience processing large, disconnected datasets in spreadsheets and databases.
• Familiarity with Tableau or other query-based data visualization tools.
• Experience using AI-enabled tools to automate operations and scale quality assurance.
• Technical writing, technical communication, project management development, or experience forming new teams.
