Product Development Assistant Manager (Apparel)

Location: New York, NY; based in the New York City office

Salary: $70,000–$75,000 base annual salary, plus benefits, a short-term incentive program, clothing allowance, and merchandise discounts.

What you will do

• Support product development from tech pack handoff through production handoff for the Soft Wovens ready-to-wear collection.
• Manage assigned seasonal styles across overseas factories and work with domestic factories and patternmakers as needed.
• Own sample-stage BOMs, factory line sheets, WIP tracking, sample deliveries, costing, and milestone dates.
• Coordinate daily communication with factories, resolve development issues, and escalate risks or delays.
• Prepare samples and materials for reviews and fittings, document fit feedback, and maintain action lists.
• Partner with raw materials, fabric, trim, design, production, and product development teams to deliver seasonal deadlines.

Requirements

• 5+ years of fashion industry experience with direct apparel product development experience.
• Experience communicating and working with overseas factories; domestic factory experience is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of garment construction and fabrics across varied silhouettes and product details.
• Strong organization, attention to detail, urgency, prioritization, troubleshooting, and follow-through.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel; PLM experience is preferred.

Nice to have

• Experience with women's Soft Wovens product.
• Understanding of patternmaking and technical design.
• Experience with VibeIQ and/or Exenta.
