Mechanical Design Engineer (Robotics)

Location: Pittsburgh, PA, United States; onsite five days a week

Salary: $149,000–$188,000 per year, with potential equity awards and an annual performance-based bonus.

What you will do

• Design and develop mechanical systems for robotic applications with attention to functionality, cost, and manufacturability.
• Create 3D CAD models, engineering drawings, assembly instructions, and other development documentation.
• Own a hardware module, define and improve its requirements, and support its development, build, and testing.
• Build and test prototypes, analyze performance data, and iterate on designs.
• Collaborate with electrical engineers, software developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to integrate mechanical, electronic, and software components.
• Participate in design reviews and manage project plans, specifications, and testing procedures.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks and a strong portfolio of relevant projects and designs.
• Practical experience building and testing mechanical systems, including hands-on fabrication skills.
• Interest in actuation, mechanisms, and robotics.
• Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical colleagues.
• Strong problem-solving skills and an innovative approach to mechanical design challenges.
