What you will do

• Design and implement advanced security capabilities in Microsoft Azure Government.
• Lead technical workstreams covering Azure security architecture, Microsoft Sentinel, Defender, identity, logging, DevSecOps, automation, and infrastructure as code.
• Automate secure configuration enforcement, configuration-drift detection and remediation, security response, and evidence generation.
• Modernize logging and monitoring architectures by improving telemetry classification, retention, data-flow efficiency, and Sentinel cost control.
• Improve detection coverage and security assurance against sophisticated and AI-enabled nation-state threats.
• Guide a small engineering team from architecture and implementation through testing, deployment, and operational transition.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience designing, engineering, or securing Microsoft Azure environments.
• Experience with Microsoft Azure Government, Azure Policy, secure configuration baselines, and automated drift detection or remediation.
• Experience operating Microsoft Sentinel and Microsoft security capabilities such as Defender for Cloud or Defender XDR, including KQL, data connectors, analytics, automation, and workbooks.
• Experience with Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Diagnostic Settings, Event Hub, Resource Graph, Terraform, CI/CD, and DevSecOps.
• Experience securing Entra ID, RBAC, PIM, managed identities, service principals, and Key Vault.
• Public Trust determination and eligibility for a U.S. government client investigation are required. A bachelor's degree and Microsoft Azure certification are also required.

Nice to have

• Experience with FedRAMP, NIST SP 800-53, continuous monitoring, authorization processes, and automated security evidence.
• Experience with Detection-as-Code, automated detection testing, MITRE ATT&CK, advanced persistent threats, or AI-enabled cyber attacks.
• Experience with Microsoft Purview, data loss prevention, data classification, vulnerability-management tooling, or software supply-chain security.
• Experience with Azure backup, recovery, resiliency, cyber recovery, or federal logging and network visibility requirements.
• Security certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, AZ-500, or SC-100.
