TL;DR
Senior Integration and QA Engineer (ADAS/AV): Defining and executing integrated hardware, software, and calibration testing for ADAS platform software with an accent on safety-critical embedded systems, HIL validation, and automated test development. Focus on verifying perception, vehicle control, mapping, and localization systems, solving complex integration issues, and leading end-to-end testing across agile teams.

Location: Warren, Michigan, United States; hybrid with reporting to the specific location at least 3 times per week. The role includes development trips, assembly plant activities, prototype shops, garages, and fleet testing for less than 10% of the time. Relocation benefits may be available.

What you will do

  • Deliver integrated hardware, software, and calibration for development, production, and service programs.
  • Develop and execute manual and automated Key Behavior Tests and milestone tests for ADAS/AV platform software.
  • Verify control module functionality on benches and in vehicles, including perception, vehicle control, mapping, and localization systems.
  • Create test protocols and scripts for hardware and software integration validation.
  • Lead testing, automation, issue resolution, and collaboration across multiple agile teams from conception through delivery.
  • Support problem resolution and incident management while mentoring junior team members.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in software, computer, electrical, embedded systems, or electronics engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of software development, integration, and/or testing experience.
  • Software experience, preferably with C/C++, plus exposure to Bash, Python, and Windows batch scripting.
  • Experience integrating and testing safety-critical embedded control systems in a HIL environment.
  • Valid U.S. driver's license and ability to regularly drive GM test vehicles; successful completion of a Motor Vehicle Report review is required.
  • Must be a U.S. Person: U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident, asylee, or refugee, due to export control restrictions.

Nice to have

  • Knowledge of ADAS, Software Defined Vehicle, motion control, automotive networks, and powertrain systems.
  • Experience with Linux or QNX, CANoe, Vehicle Spy, INCA, or AutoVAL.
  • Knowledge of Ethernet, CAN, or LIN serial communications and exposure to Adaptive AUTOSAR.
  • Experience with CI/CD, unit testing tools such as CppUTest or Google Test, Jenkins, and Agile/SAFe methodologies.
