Senior V&V Engineer – Public Road & Fleet Testing (Autonomous Vehicles)

Location: Onsite 5 days a week at the Santa Clara, California office

Salary: $160,000–$260,000 per year

What you will do

• Define and execute structured public-road testing and shadow-fleet evaluation programs for new software builds.
• Validate map updates and route configurations across customer operational design domains before driverless approval.
• Investigate disengagements, near-misses, dynamic anomalies, and unexpected vehicle behavior using log visualization and analysis tools.
• Track Safety Performance Indicators and fleet metrics to assess readiness for fully driverless operations.
• Own vehicle commissioning, operational readiness, and customer route expansion from a V&V perspective.
• Convert on-road findings into bug reports, SIL/HIL regression scenarios, and action items for autonomy engineering teams.

Requirements

• B.S. or M.S. in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Automotive Engineering, or Data Analytics.
• 5+ years of experience in field validation, fleet testing, or systems engineering for autonomous vehicles or large-scale robotic fleets.
• Advanced proficiency in Python, SQL, Jupyter, Grafana, Foxglove, and MCAP.
• Experience analyzing LiDAR, radar, camera, and CAN sensor logs to triage autonomy failures.
• Strong understanding of operational design domains, route-map validation, and fleet-wide safety monitoring.
• Ability to work onsite five days per week in Santa Clara, California.

Nice to have

• Experience deploying L4 driverless commercial operations in freight, trucking, or ride-hailing.
• Expertise in statistical fleet reliability modeling.
• Cross-functional leadership experience with Operations, Safety, and Engineering teams.
