Founding Product Engineer (AI/Fintech)

What you will do

• Own critical customer problems from product inception through production deployment.
• Work directly with founders, operators, finance teams, and early customers to define product solutions.
• Design and build full-stack functionality across frontend, backend, AI, data, and external integrations.
• Develop AI finance agents for invoicing, collections, payroll, reporting, and month-end close workflows.
• Architect reliable systems for permissions, audit trails, financial reconciliation, observability, and AI evaluation.
• Build integrations with banking, accounting, payroll, payment, and communication platforms including QuickBooks, Plaid, and Stripe.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of professional software engineering experience and a record of shipping real products to production.
• Full-stack experience with React, TypeScript, Python, FastAPI, and PostgreSQL.
• Strong product sense and the ability to combine strategic product thinking with rigorous technical implementation.
• Curiosity and discipline to learn complex, rules-heavy domains such as financial systems and accounting.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate directly with founders and early customers.
• Ability to work remotely from a location with reliable internet access.

Nice to have

• Experience building AI agents, production LLM applications, or working with Model Context Protocol.
• Background in fintech, accounting, payments, banking, or financial data pipelines.
• Experience owning a product area at an early-stage startup.
• Experience designing APIs and distributed workflows where security, auditability, and correctness are critical.
