Legal Counsel, Finance (Renewable Energy)

Location: US, Arlington, VA

Salary: $126,000–$157,250 per year, plus annual bonus.

What you will do

• Advise on renewable energy project development and financing, focusing on solar, solar-plus-storage, stand-alone storage, and wind projects.
• Act as internal counsel on tax equity, tax credit transfer, debt, and corporate financings.
• Structure, draft, review, and negotiate financing transactions and project documents, including power purchase agreements and engineering, procurement, and construction contracts.
• Manage and coordinate transaction closings with internal teams and outside counsel.
• Engage and manage outside counsel efficiently.
• Provide legal counsel and strategic guidance to senior and executive management.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of relevant legal experience, preferably at a major law firm or sophisticated in-house legal group.
• Experience with renewable energy project finance, project development, and project-related documentation.
• Bachelor’s degree and J.D. from an accredited law school.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to adapt to varied responsibilities and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Must have authorization to work in the United States; employment authorization is verified through E-Verify.
