Staff Medical & Scientific Affairs Liaison (Infectious Diseases and Microbiology)

Location: Austin, Texas, United States; fully remote work is available in a designated territory. The role requires 20–25% domestic and international travel.

Annual salary: $135,000–$150,000, plus eligible bonus or incentive pay.

What you will do

• Develop and implement engagement plans with key opinion leaders, infectious disease providers, medical societies, and other stakeholders.
• Support strategic education and training programs for internal and external audiences.
• Assist with clinical study and research initiatives, including execution and maintenance.
• Act as a scientific authority in infectious diseases and microbiology, translating complex information for scientific and non-scientific audiences.
• Monitor clinical practice trends and diagnostic innovation, and prepare materials for symposia, conferences, and educational programs.

Requirements

• 9+ years of experience with a bachelor's degree, 7+ years with a master's degree, or 4+ years with a doctorate degree.
• At least 3 years of experience in Medical Affairs, Medical Science Liaison, or clinical practice is preferred.
• Extensive knowledge of clinical and laboratory testing, diagnosis, and treatment of infectious diseases.
• Strong understanding of clinical research methodologies, regulatory or laboratory standards, and medical terminology.
• Demonstrated ability to build relationships with KOLs, healthcare providers, laboratorians, and other healthcare professionals.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills, including the ability to explain complex scientific concepts clearly.

Nice to have

• 8+ years of knowledge in healthcare technologies and clinical practice trends.
• 5+ years of MSL experience in medical technology, medical devices, or the IVD industry.
• Advanced degree such as PhD, MPH, PharmD, RN, or MHA.
