TL;DR
Turnaround Intern - Mechanical Engineer (Manufacturing): Supporting planning, readiness, execution, and continuous improvement for a major plant turnaround with an accent on mechanical integrity, process safety, reliability, and capital projects. Focus on conducting field walkdowns, verifying equipment and work packages, tracking readiness and project activities, and supporting outage execution, commissioning, and startup.

What you will do

  • Support turnaround planning, readiness reviews, work-scope tracking, field walkdowns, and verification of equipment tags, drawings, and P&IDs.
  • Assist with MOC job-package reviews, contractor logistics, procurement tracking, site preparation, purge and leak-testing procedures, emissions calculations, and contractor training.
  • Provide field support during outage execution, monitor assigned scopes, conduct visual inspections of process equipment, and track equipment closure and pre-commissioning documentation.
  • Support turnaround-related capital and reliability projects, including schedules, equipment selection, vendor communication, installation verification, commissioning, and startup.
  • Participate in PHA, MOC, PSSR, mechanical integrity, inspection, reliability, safety audit, and equipment performance activities.
  • Maintain readiness trackers, prepare a turnaround report or dashboard, document lessons learned, and present contributions and recommendations at the end of the internship.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Mechanical Engineering degree.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented industrial environment.
  • Ability to work on site in Woodward, Oklahoma, and support field-based turnaround activities.
