2027 Summer Intern – Manufacturing Tool and Die (Manufacturing)

Location: Onsite in Kansas City, Kansas, United States; full-time presence at the assigned plant is required.

What you will do

• Assist skilled trade personnel with the operation and maintenance of specialized tooling and equipment.
• Analyze products, processes, and technology to determine effective manufacturing methods.
• Support preventive maintenance for new and existing tooling.
• Troubleshoot maintenance and equipment problems and support periodic repairs.
• Assist with designing and building tools and equipment or improving existing processes.
• Support or lead projects, implement best practices, and provide technical direction to support personnel.

Requirements

• Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Machine Technology, or a related tool and die program.
• Graduation expected between August 2027 and June 2029.
• Availability to work full-time, 40 hours per week.
• Willingness to work in a plant environment and report onsite full-time is required.
• Ability to operate machines and tools, perform quality inspections, follow safety instructions, and wear personal protective equipment.
• Ability to work in loud, non-climate-controlled conditions and perform repetitive physical activities, including lifting up to 40 pounds periodically.

• Leadership experience in academic, extracurricular, or service activities.
• Experience supporting production lines, interfacing with hourly workforces, and collaborating across shifts.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, teamwork, initiative, integrity, and problem-solving skills.
