VDC Manager, Electrical (BIM)

Location: Remote within the United States; US work authorization required.

Salary: $100,000–$120,000 per year, plus a $10,000 sign-on bonus and eligibility for bonuses.

What you will do

• Lead end-to-end delivery across at least three complex electrical VDC projects.
• Coordinate BIM updates, run clash detection on revised components, and communicate results to internal and external stakeholders.
• Model, draft, produce drawings, and read electrical plans and construction documentation.
• Manage and mentor detailers and VDC engineers while leading online meetings and training sessions.
• Build client relationships through project excellence and support repeat business.
• Develop knowledge-sharing initiatives and lead training on electrical coordination best practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering or a related discipline.
• 5+ years of experience providing BIM and VDC implementation, training, and support.
• 3+ years of experience working for an electrical trade contractor.
• Experience managing two to three detailers and/or VDC engineers.
• Experience reading and interpreting electrical plans, construction drawings, specifications, and contracts.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, communicate frequently, solve problems, and work some early or late hours with international project teams.

Nice to have

• Field construction experience and knowledge of real-world constructability.
• Experience with project invoicing, budgeting, scheduling, and forecasting.
• Experience managing BIM and VDC across the project lifecycle.
• Knowledge of other building systems and their assembly sequence.
• Experience providing professional services to clients and managing remote teams.
