First Shift Fleet Maintenance Supervisor

What you will do

• Supervise technicians performing preventive maintenance and repairs on diesel and alternative-fuel trucks, containers, and heavy equipment.
• Plan and schedule repair work while monitoring shop safety, productivity, efficiency, and compliance with federal and state regulations.
• Conduct shop huddles, fleet walks, quality-control inspections, outside-repair inspections, coaching, training, and performance evaluations.
• Oversee complex diagnostics and repairs involving engines, emissions systems, transmissions, brakes, hydraulics, electrical systems, HVAC, and welding.
• Manage parts and equipment inventory, approve expenses within scope, and escalate major repairs or costs to management.
• Maintain payroll, employee, maintenance, and Dossier Maintenance Software records; prepare budgets and set departmental goals.

Requirements

• High school diploma or G.E.D.
• ASE Certification, including T3 Drive, T4 Brake, T5 Suspension and Steering, T6 Electrical/Electronic, T7 HVAC Systems, ASE T2 Diesel Engine, and ASE T Master Certified.
• At least 3 years of maintenance experience working with heavy equipment.
• At least 1 year of supervisory experience as a lead technician, supervisor, or manager.
• Thorough knowledge of safe working practices, DOT, OSHA, and other federal and state regulations.
