Director of Operations Strategy (AI & Smart Manufacturing)

Location: On-site in Coralville, Iowa; Fargo, North Dakota; Madison, Wisconsin; Raleigh, North Carolina; Boulder, Colorado; or San Diego, California, United States. Travel of approximately 35% is required, depending on project location.

Annual salary: $170,000–$215,000, plus eligibility for bonus or incentive pay.

What you will do

• Lead end-to-end execution of strategic operational projects and site-based initiatives.
• Develop and manage multi-year operational strategy roadmaps aligned with growth and enterprise objectives.
• Lead integration planning and execution across teams, processes, and systems.
• Evaluate and prioritize business cases to guide investments, resource allocation, and strategic focus.
• Advance AI, data science, digital, and smart manufacturing initiatives to improve operational performance and decision-making.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, operations, supply chain, or a related field.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in strategy, operations, program management, or business transformation.
• Several years of people leadership experience in a complex, matrixed environment.
• Experience leading cross-functional strategic initiatives, enterprise programs, operational roadmaps, business cases, and investment or capacity decisions.
• Experience with integration planning, business continuity, and long-range capacity planning for large-scale or multi-site operations.
• Strong executive communication and stakeholder management skills, plus hands-on experience with AI, smart manufacturing, digital, or data science initiatives.

• Advanced degree.
• Experience in regulated life sciences, biotechnology, diagnostics, or pharmaceutical manufacturing.
• Experience with digital transformation, advanced analytics, network optimization, new product introduction, or multi-site supply chain strategy.
