Network Engineer

Location: Hybrid in Minneapolis, Minnesota, with at least 4 days per week in the office. Occasional travel to data centers and remote sites is required, along with on-call and after-hours maintenance support.

Pay range: $70–$90 per hour. This is a 6-month temporary contract position.

What you will do

• Design, configure, deploy, and maintain LAN, WAN, WLAN, VPN, routing, and switching solutions across distributed sites.
• Administer Palo Alto firewalls and Aruba switching and wireless infrastructure.
• Implement network access control and segmentation using 802.1X, RADIUS, VLANs, ACLs, firewall zones, and micro-segmentation.
• Monitor and troubleshoot network performance and incidents using LogicMonitor, SNMP, NetFlow, syslog, packet captures, and related tools.
• Plan network upgrades, migrations, and refresh projects while minimizing operational disruption.
• Maintain network documentation, support disaster recovery, provide Tier 2/3 support, and mentor junior engineers and helpdesk staff.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of hands-on enterprise network engineering and operations experience.
• Strong knowledge of routing and switching, including BGP, OSPF, STP, VLANs, VRF, and route redistribution.
• Hands-on experience with Palo Alto Networks firewalls, Aruba networking, VPN technologies, and network segmentation.
• Experience with LogicMonitor or comparable monitoring platforms, plus SNMP, NetFlow/sFlow, syslog, Wireshark, and tcpdump.
• Must work from the Minneapolis site four days per week and already have US work authorization without current or future visa sponsorship.

Nice to have

• Palo Alto, Aruba, or CCNP certifications.
• Cloud networking experience with Azure, AWS, or GCP.
• Network automation experience with Python, Ansible, or Terraform.
• Knowledge of ZTNA, SASE, or regulated environments such as HIPAA, SOX, or PCI.
