AML Investigator (Crypto)

Location: Denver, CO; New York, NY; or Westlake, TX, with in-person attendance expected at least 3/4/5 days per week.

Base pay: $58,000–$87,000 USD annually, depending on compensation zone and location, plus bonus opportunities, equity, and benefits.

What you will do

• Investigate potentially suspicious activity across cryptocurrency products, brokerage accounts, and fiat transactions.
• Analyze blockchain transactions with Chainalysis, TRM, or similar tools to trace fund flows and identify financial crime indicators.
• Review customer activity across Robinhood Financial, Robinhood Securities, Robinhood Crypto, and Robinhood Money.
• Draft Suspicious Activity Reports that meet regulatory requirements and internal quality standards.
• Manage investigations from alert review and evidence gathering through decisioning, documentation, and closure.
• Identify trends, control gaps, and tooling improvements that strengthen investigative quality and monitoring efficiency.

Requirements

• 2+ years of AML investigation experience in a broker-dealer, cryptocurrency firm, fintech company, or financial institution, including SAR drafting.
• Hands-on experience analyzing cryptocurrency transactions and using blockchain analytics platforms such as Chainalysis or TRM.
• Experience working across both fiat and crypto products.
• Strong understanding of BSA/AML requirements relating to virtual currencies and digital asset platforms.
• Ability to analyze large data sets, document findings clearly, and make defensible risk-based decisions.
• Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Finance, Economics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Nice to have

• Course certification from Chainalysis or TRM.
• ACAMS certification or Certified Fraud Examiner designation.
