VAVE Senior Electrical Engineer (Embedded Systems)

Location: Suzhou, Jiangsu, China; travel as needed.

What you will do

• Support VAVE programs focused on instrument-system cost reduction, EOL-related design changes, and quality improvements for commercialized products.
• Provide technical leadership throughout investigation, definition, design, development, qualification, and manufacturing transfer for electrical systems and subsystems.
• Design circuit boards and electrical subsystems using CAD/CAE tools, including microcontroller, analog, digital, control, and programmable logic systems.
• Debug circuits, perform functional and system integration testing, and support manufacturing test systems.
• Investigate root causes and failures affecting reliability and performance of legacy products.
• Lead design and project reviews, resolve technical issues, support production and sourcing, and mentor junior technical staff.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree with 9+ years of relevant experience or master’s degree with 7+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience designing complex electromechanical systems, including cable assemblies, PCBs, power distribution, embedded software, and electromechanical assemblies.
• Expertise in analog, digital, control, and microcontroller-centered electrical design.
• Experience with OrCAD design and layout, simulation, timing analysis, grounding, noise reduction, EMI, and RFI control.
• Knowledge of design-for-manufacturing principles and manufacturing testing, including in-circuit and functional testing.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in Mandarin Chinese and English are required. Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Nice to have

• Experience with IVD or life science instrument systems.
• FPGA design experience with Verilog and VHDL.
• Programming and firmware development experience.
• Knowledge of EMC and safety standards and ISO quality systems for design control and product release.
• German or Spanish communication skills.
