Safety Engineer Intern - Summer 2027

Location: Atlanta site location, United States; 70%–80% of the time is spent at the field site and 20%–30% in the office.

Salary: $20–$25 per hour, depending on the position location and the candidate’s knowledge, skills, and abilities.

What you will do

• Assist project managers, superintendents, and the safety manager with implementing project and site safety programs.
• Review subcontractor safety submittals and monitor subcontractor safety activities.
• Conduct and document site safety audits and inspections.
• Review safety procedures with foremen and provide safe-work-procedure training to craft workers.
• Distribute updated safety information and conduct orientation training when needed.
• Identify and implement changes that promote a safe working environment while building rapport with contractors and field personnel.

Requirements

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in occupational safety and health, safety management, construction safety, or a related safety field.
• Within six months to two years of graduating with a four-year degree in a safety-related field.
• Able to work 40 hours per week for a two- to three-month summer term from May through August.
• Employment eligibility must be verified for work in the United States.
