TL;DR
Senior VAVE Engineer - Mechanical Engineer (VAVE): Designing and improving mechanical components, modules, subsystems, and instrumentation for cost reduction, end-of-life replacement, and quality enhancement with an accent on precision machining, complex electromechanical design, and design for manufacturing. Focus on developing prototypes, conducting verification experiments and failure analyses, transferring designs to production, and resolving reliability and performance issues.

What you will do

  • Support Value Analysis/Value Engineering programs for instrument system cost reduction, end-of-life component replacement, and quality-based product enhancements.
  • Identify product requirements, conduct technical investigations and feasibility studies, and define project metrics.
  • Design mechanical components, modules, subsystems, and consumables using CAD tools and perform theoretical mechanical analysis.
  • Develop prototypes, test plans, test specifications, and design verification experiments.
  • Transfer designs to production, provide technical support to production and sourcing, and resolve technical issues.
  • Conduct root-cause and failure analyses, prepare design-change and regulatory documentation, and participate in design and project reviews.

Requirements

  • More than 3 years of experience with precision machining processes and related part design, including silica, ceramic, glass, or metal machining.
  • Experience designing complex electromechanical components, modules, or systems, including sheet metal, injection-molded, or die-cast parts.
  • Familiarity with GD&T and tolerance analysis, plus proficiency with 3D design tools such as SolidWorks.
  • Experience with material and component selection for reliability and chemical compatibility, design for manufacturing, ease of assembly, cost of goods, and second sourcing.
  • Strong knowledge of DFM, DFS, and DFMEA.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in Mandarin Chinese and English are required.

Nice to have

  • Localization experience with complex electromechanical components such as pumps, valves, and motors.
  • Experience with IVD or life science instrument systems.
  • FEA experience, including CFD, dynamics, or structural analysis.
  • Knowledge of instrument enclosure design for EMC/CE compliance.
  • Familiarity with ISO quality systems for design control, product release requirements, and audits.
