Senior Software Engineer, Field Survey Applications (C++)

Location: Concordia s/S, Italy. Remote and hybrid work options are available, with candidates ideally able to travel to the Concordia office regularly.

Salary: €50,000–€57,000 gross annual salary, plus a variable performance-based bonus.

What you will do

• Develop and enhance field survey applications for Windows, Linux, Android, and iOS using C++, Qt, and QML.
• Integrate Topcon and third-party equipment, including GNSS receivers, robotic optical total stations, depth finders, and laser range finders.
• Design, maintain, test, document, and enhance software modules, including mature MFC-based software.
• Implement surveying routines and support geospatial workflows for field survey applications.
• Coordinate module design and delivery with project managers, team leaders, software teams, and other engineering disciplines.
• Analyze and resolve technical and application issues while providing technical direction to other engineers.

Requirements

• Degree in geodesy, geoinformatics, computer science, engineering, electronics, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of overall software development experience, including 3+ years of professional C++ development.
• Professional experience with Windows development and software development processes.
• Expert knowledge of C++, the Standard Library, and Boost, with strong understanding of object-oriented design, algorithms, data structures, and multithreading.
• Knowledge of version control, JIRA, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, debugging, compilers, and static analysis tools.
• Good written and spoken English is required.

Nice to have

• Experience with Qt, QML, Linux, Android, or iOS development.
• Experience supporting industrial hardware and working with Ethernet, Wi-Fi, USB, Bluetooth, BLE, or RS232 communication protocols.
• Knowledge of computational geometry, spatial algorithms, 3D rendering, geodesy, GNSS, optical surveying, CAD, or geodetic coordinate systems.
• Experience with technologies such as gRPC, protobuf, MQTT, NTRIP, RTCM, Docker, Eigen, CGAL, SQL, or DirectX/OpenGL.
