Senior Embedded Systems Developer (IoT)

What you will do

• Design and develop firmware for wireless devices and embedded Linux-based systems.
• Develop firmware for IoT gateways, smart home centers, environmental sensors, wearables, and connected pet devices.
• Work with IoT protocols including BLE, Zigbee, and Matter, and integrate devices into ecosystems such as Amazon, Control4, and Legrand.
• Optimize code size and performance, including existing code.
• Work directly with client teams and participate in technical collaboration.

Requirements

• 3+ years of relevant professional software development experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong proficiency in C/C++ software development.
• Professional experience with Zigbee, including development, integration, debugging, or maintenance of Zigbee-based solutions.
• Hands-on experience developing and debugging firmware for MCUs in OS-less, RTOS, and/or Embedded Linux environments, or experience with Linux development across different hardware platforms.
• Ability to independently develop and own software components, design, document, and implement software subsystems, and contribute effectively to a software development team.
• Ability to understand, maintain, troubleshoot, and contribute to an existing codebase.
• Ability to understand customer requirements and participate actively in technical meetings and discussions.
• Good technical English, both written and spoken.

Nice to have

• Experience with Zephyr OS in embedded firmware development, integration, or customization.
• Experience with communication protocols including UART, USB, TCP, UDP, TLS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, MQTT, HTTP, and Modbus.
• Experience with wireless communication technologies and networks such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and Z-Wave.
• Experience with FreeRTOS, Zephyr, Linux, or similar embedded platforms, including application- or kernel-level development.
• Experience integrating embedded devices with cloud services.
• Knowledge of Python or other scripting languages such as Lua, Perl, or Shell scripting.
• Experience in technical team leadership or management.
• Experience optimizing code size and performance, refactoring existing code, and maintaining large, complex codebases.
• Experience with Unix-like systems administration and distributed or geographically dispersed development teams.
