Senior Embedded Applications Engineer (Edge AI)

Location: 100% onsite in Columbia, Maryland, United States

Salary: $84,000–$105,000 annual pay, plus eligibility for bonus opportunities and commission pay.

What you will do

• Assemble hardware setups, sensor arrays, and embedded boards, and collect data from physical environments.
• Develop and maintain edge AI applications, demonstrations, and tiny ML solutions for consumer, industrial, and automotive hardware.
• Ingest, debug, analyze, and preprocess data with product and marketing teams.
• Optimize and deploy AI models for microcontrollers and embedded platforms.
• Lead junior engineers and provide technical leadership across teams.
• Track emerging technologies in AI, embedded ML, and signal processing.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering or a related technical field.
• Hands-on experience fabricating prototype systems with physical, microelectronic, and sensor components, including design tools, 3D printing, and electrical and physical assembly.
• Experience with sensors and their use in embedded systems, including audio, electrical, accelerometer, and control-system signals.
• Experience handling large, high-frequency sensor datasets, including debugging and preprocessing.
• Understanding of AI/ML algorithms and experience deploying models on microcontrollers.
• Proficiency in Python, MATLAB, and C, with experience in real-time edge computing, embedded systems, and DSP for audio and time-series data.
