Mechanical Engineering Intern - Summer 2027

Location: On-site at hirify.global’s corporate headquarters in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, United States. Up to 25% travel is required for bioprocessing facility visits, meetings, and site visits; overnight travel may occasionally be required.

What you will do

• Support mechanical engineering and drafting tasks under the supervision of Mechanical Engineers.
• Assist with HVAC, ventilation, plumbing, process piping, equipment layout, and equipment specification.
• Support procurement and contract administration activities.
• Complete data analysis related to mechanical design.
• Assist with on-site commissioning and start-up activities.
• Promote safe behavior, environmental compliance, teamwork, and community engagement.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Junior- or senior-level student majoring in an Engineering program, preferably Mechanical Engineering.
• Organizational, time management, communication, adaptability, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
• Ability to understand the technical and daily operation of a bioprocessing facility.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn new programs.
• Ability to work in an on-site office and bioprocessing facility environment, including physical labor, climbing stairs and ladders, lifting up to 60 pounds, working at heights and in confined spaces, and wearing PPE.
