Senior Software Engineer 1 (TypeScript)

Location: New York, New York, United States; in-office 4–5 days per week

Salary: $190,000–$200,000 USD annual base compensation, plus equity

What you will do

• Lead the end-to-end lifecycle of complex systems and features, from design through long-term production operation.
• Decompose ambiguous customer and business problems into shippable scope, make documented technical decisions, and deliver production code.
• Design data models, schemas, migrations, and API-to-database contracts that support iteration and scale.
• Own monitoring, incident diagnosis, root-cause analysis, risk prevention, and SLA awareness for production systems.
• Partner with Product, Design, Data Analytics, Lifecycle Communications, and other engineering pods.
• Mentor engineers and improve code review, architecture review, incident retrospectives, tooling, and on-call practices.

Requirements

• 6–8+ years of experience as a strong fullstack engineer, building features across frontend and backend.
• Significant experience building and operating production systems where defects affect revenue or customer trust.
• Strong written and verbal communication, including documenting technical decisions, trade-offs, and practices.
• Excellent ownership, problem-solving, prioritization, judgment, and attention to detail in ambiguous environments.
• Ability to work in the New York office 4–5 days per week.

Nice to have

• Experience with TypeScript, GraphQL, Temporal, Postgres, and AWS.
• Pragmatic experience using AI and other emerging tools while maintaining ownership of the resulting code.
• Love of dogs.
