Fullstack Engineer (React/TypeScript)

Location: San Francisco; onsite at the Pier 28 office at least 3 days per week

Salary: $140,000–$179,000 per year plus stock options

hirify.global is a 100-person growing startup building ocean-sensing systems, cloud applications, hardware products, and open connectivity infrastructure.

What you will do

• Build frontend and backend features for cloud applications such as the Spotter dashboard and APIs.
• Own features end to end, from data storage and architecture through development, testing, release, monitoring, and optimization.
• Develop complex visualizations for real-time streaming data, including hydrophone and wave-energy data.
• Improve system performance using React data invalidation, caching, database indexing, and configurable hardware thresholds.
• Automate the configuration and updating of remote hardware devices while accounting for complex decision trees and edge cases.
• Collaborate with software, hardware, firmware, design, product, and science specialists, and mentor engineers through code reviews.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software development experience in modern cloud environments.
• Significant professional experience with TypeScript, React, and Postgres.
• Experience with CI/CD, monitoring, alerting, maintenance, and optimization across the full feature lifecycle.
• Significant expertise deploying services across AWS, including ECS, ALB, CloudFront, RDS, ElastiCache, Lambda, and IAM.
• Experience collaborating directly with hardware or firmware engineers.
• Ability to work onsite at the Pier 28 office in San Francisco at least 3 days per week.

Nice to have

• Experience with complex data visualizations such as circular wave energy and hydrophone spectrograms.
• Acoustics expertise or knowledge of sonic propagation in dynamic ocean environments.
• Connection to and interest in the ocean.
