Staff UX Designer (AI)

Location: Hybrid role requiring 3 days per week in the Toronto office at 351 King St E, Suite 1100, Toronto, ON

Salary: $120,000–$130,000 CAD per year, plus eligibility for a discretionary bonus and/or commission.

What you will do

• Own design for complex and ambiguous product areas from problem framing through implementation, setting direction and documentation for other designers.
• Design AI-native interaction patterns, including conversational and agentic interfaces, intelligent defaults, predictive experiences, and human oversight moments.
• Shape complete auditor journeys and influence product roadmaps, scope, and sequencing with Product and Engineering leadership.
• Create working prototypes with Figma Make, Replit, and Claude Code to test assumptions and support implementation.
• Define research questions, lead studies, synthesize findings with AI, and surface patterns that resolve strategic uncertainty.
• Lead cross-team design initiatives, contribute to the design system, uphold accessibility standards, mentor designers, and participate in critiques.

Requirements

• 8 or more years of experience in UX or a related field, demonstrated through a portfolio of complex product work and design decisions made under ambiguity.
• Experience designing journey-level experiences in complex, regulated, or data-heavy domains.
• Experience with AI-native interaction patterns or a clear perspective on transparency, accountability, and user trust.
• Experience owning research agendas and leading studies for a product area.
• Proficiency with Figma, component-based design systems, and accessibility standards.
• Experience setting design direction with Product and Engineering leadership and mentoring experienced designers.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of accounting, audit, or financial services.
