Staff Platform Engineer (Infrastructure)

Location: New York, NY (Hybrid)

Salary: $240,000–$300,000 USD per year

What you will do

• Build and maintain infrastructure and tooling for the core platform.
• Maintain CI/CD pipelines and automate operational workflows.
• Improve infrastructure performance, reliability, scalability, and cost efficiency.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to standardize environments and deployment patterns.
• Maintain observability and incident response processes.
• Support secure and compliant cloud-based systems.

Requirements

• 8+ years of software engineering or DevOps experience, ideally involving infrastructure, performance, security, or compliance.
• Strong fundamentals in system design, debugging, and problem-solving.
• Proficiency in Python or a strong object-oriented programming background.
• Experience with serverless technologies such as Lambda and EC2, asynchronous workflows, and cloud environments.
• Strong knowledge of relational databases and performance tuning, ideally PostgreSQL.
• Experience with Terraform, infrastructure-as-code practices, and Docker or similar tools.

Nice to have

• Experience with LLMs or generative AI.
• Experience with distributed systems.
