What you will do

  • Clinically verify new and refill prescriptions, including drug interactions, contraindications, dosing, quantities, NDCs, labeling, and prospective drug utilization review.
  • Dispense medications in a closed-door fulfillment environment and verify specialty medication requirements, including cold-chain handling.
  • Provide outbound and inbound phone-based counseling on medication use, side effects, storage, dosing, and adherence, documenting interactions in the pharmacy system.
  • Contact prescribers to clarify incomplete or inappropriate prescriptions and support therapeutic substitutions, DAW overrides, and formulary alternatives.
  • Supervise pharmacy technicians, perform real-time quality checks, and contribute to coaching, training, audits, error tracking, and continuous improvement.
  • Coordinate with patient services, compliance, technology, shipping, and fulfillment teams to resolve medication access and delivery issues.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an ACPE-accredited College of Pharmacy.
  • Active Missouri Pharmacy License in good standing with the Missouri Board of Pharmacy.
  • Strong written and verbal English for phone-based patient counseling and clinical communication.
  • Experience performing high-volume prescription verification with strong accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Technical aptitude and ability to learn pharmacy management systems, verification platforms, and workflow tools.
  • Preferred: 3+ years of experience in mail-order, specialty, retail, or closed-door fulfillment pharmacy; additional state licensure may be required within the first 9 months.

Nice to have

  • Bilingual Spanish counseling ability.
  • Prior licensure in one or more eligible additional states.
  • Familiarity with pharmacovigilance or adverse drug event reporting.
