Localization Delivery Manager (AI)

Location: Tokyo, Japan; hybrid work with office attendance around four days a week

What you will do

• Act as the primary client contact, managing expectations, project scopes, timelines, feedback, and escalations.
• Validate briefs and manage localization projects from scoping through final delivery and billing.
• Triage work to internal and external linguists and Production/Studio teams.
• Use AI agents and prompt engineering to produce localized copy aligned with client brand voices, glossaries, and style guides.
• Maintain glossaries and Translation Memories to capture feedback and support future AI engine training.
• Manage project budgets, costs, purchase orders, estimates, actual spend, and client billing.

Requirements

• Availability to start immediately.
• At least 3 years of experience in localization project management in an agency or in-house environment.
• Experience briefing and managing internal or external linguists across copy localization projects.
• Strong client-facing communication skills and the ability to manage local and international stakeholders.
• Knowledge of creative development, localization workflows, design and layout constraints, and quality assurance methods.
• Experience with CAT tools and Translation Management Systems such as XTM or XTRF; exceptional written and verbal communication in English and Japanese.

Nice to have

• Experience with Unifyr and Asana.
• Practical experience with AI-led translation or transcreation tools and prompting AI agents or engines for language services.
