TL;DR
Electronic Components Engineering Specialist (Embedded Sensors): Developing and validating IMU-based electrical hardware for advanced machine control systems with an accent on PCB-level circuit design, sensor qualification, and harsh-environment reliability. Focus on designing calibration and validation systems, integrating filtering and sensor fusion, ensuring functional safety compliance, and transitioning products to manufacturing.

Location: On site 5 days per week in Mossville, Illinois, or Dayton, Ohio, United States. Relocation assistance is available. Travel is up to 10%.

Salary: $128,470–$192,710 per year

What you will do

  • Architect, implement, and validate electrical designs for embedded machine control and inertial sensor applications.
  • Design PCB-level sensor interface circuitry, including power regulation, EMI shielding, and noise isolation.
  • Select and qualify accelerometers, gyroscopes, magnetometers, and other IMU components.
  • Develop validation plans covering accuracy, thermal cycling, vibration endurance, and environmental performance.
  • Define factory and field calibration procedures, create production test fixtures, and support the transition to manufacturing.
  • Lead technical problem-solving, design reviews, safety analysis, documentation, and communication with customers and cross-functional teams.

Requirements

  • Experience designing, researching, and debugging electronic circuits for embedded systems and sensors.
  • Experience with OrCAD, Altium, or similar tools, plus analog and digital circuit design and testing.
  • Proficiency with MATLAB and SPICE/PSpice simulation software.
  • Familiarity with C and C++ firmware development.
  • Master of Science in Electrical Engineering or a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge of reliability management, product design, supplier management, and mechanical engineering processes.

Nice to have

  • Experience working with IMUs, accelerometers, and gyroscopes.
  • Experience with machine control systems.
  • Experience with Agile PLM and Oracle ERP.
  • Experience designing functional safety products.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office or Google Workspace.
