Research Engineer II - Data Visualization

Salary: $4,617.67–$7,916.67 per month, commensurate with experience

What you will do

• Design and develop interactive visualization applications, dashboards, and analytical tools for research, experimentation, and operational test events.
• Transform engineering, scientific, sensor, telemetry, and operational datasets into visual products for technical and executive audiences.
• Build automated pipelines for data ingestion, cleaning, transformation, and visualization.
• Develop real-time monitoring interfaces for experiments, instrumentation systems, autonomous platforms, and range operations.
• Visualize machine learning outputs, geospatial data, experimental results, and post-test analysis.
• Integrate visualization capabilities with software applications, APIs, databases, cloud platforms, and edge computing environments; document solutions and mentor junior engineers and students.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, data science, computer engineering, software engineering, electrical engineering, or a related STEM discipline, or equivalent education and experience.
• At least two years of progressively responsible experience in data visualization, scientific computing, software engineering, analytics, or related research.
• Experience with Python, SQL, and technical visualizations or analytical dashboards using tools such as Plotly Dash, Tableau, Power BI, D3, Grafana, or equivalent.
• Ability to communicate technical findings to non-technical audiences and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
• Must be able to gain and maintain a Department of Defense security clearance and must be a U.S. citizen.
• Ability to support field operations and travel occasionally.

Nice to have

• Git, REST APIs, Linux and Windows development, Pandas, NumPy, and data engineering fundamentals.
• Machine learning, computer vision, GIS, geospatial visualization, scientific visualization, or time-series analysis experience.
• ROS/ROS2, messaging and streaming technologies, cloud or edge analytics, Docker, Kubernetes, CUDA, or GPU computing.
• JavaScript or TypeScript web application development and UX/UI design experience.
• Experience with defense research, test and evaluation, digital engineering, telemetry, sensor fusion, or large-scale scientific datasets.
