Senior Business Analyst, Finance Controllership

Location: Toronto, ON; hybrid arrangement with 1–3 days per week onsite

What you will do

• Provide controllership and accounting advisory support for business initiatives, process changes, system implementations, automation, and new business capabilities.
• Define Finance requirements and assess impacts on the general ledger, financial reporting, downstream reporting, and key controls.
• Support end-to-end Finance process reviews, including documentation, impact analysis, requirements analysis, testing, issue resolution, and Finance sign-off.
• Identify process gaps, defects, and risks, and recommend practical solutions that strengthen controls and improve data quality.
• Collaborate with Finance, Technology, Operations, Risk, Audit, and business stakeholders on project delivery and decision-making.

Requirements

• CPA designation or equivalent in good standing.
• 7+ years of relevant experience in controllership, financial reporting, accounting, or finance transformation.
• Experience with financial reporting, accounting, internal controls, and end-to-end Finance processes in complex organizations.
• Experience translating Finance needs into business requirements and assessing the impact of business, process, or system changes.
• Strong Excel proficiency, practical systems knowledge, analytical thinking, and risk assessment skills.
• Legally eligible to work in Canada and able to work onsite in Toronto 1–3 days per week.

Nice to have

• Experience with SAP or similar Finance platforms, Broadridge, Alteryx, Power BI, or SQL.
