Sr Test Engineer - Software (Aerospace)

Location: Lone Tree, Colorado, United States; work may take place in an office, lab, hangar, or offsite environment, with occasional travel.

Salary: $124,771.42–$171,560.71 annually, plus performance-based annual incentive pay.

What you will do

• Lead complex and high-stakes testing projects for advanced mission systems.
• Develop and execute test plans and procedures across the design lifecycle through post-production follow-ups.
• Conduct system testing of communication, computing, navigation, and surveillance equipment.
• Analyze test data and prepare detailed reports for senior management.
• Coordinate test strategies and requirements with multidisciplinary teams.
• Assess and mitigate test and safety risks while mentoring junior test engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field; a higher relevant degree may substitute for experience.
• 10+ years of experience in test engineering or a related role.
• Expert knowledge of test and evaluation principles, engineering practices, requirements management, system design, and systems integration.
• Experience planning, conducting, and documenting Verification and Validation activities.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary design and development teams.
• U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance are required.

Nice to have

• Experience with manual and automated testing, certification testing, and aerospace or defense standards such as MIL-STD-810 or DO-160.
• Experience with CI/CD pipeline implementation and reverse traceability documentation automation.
• Programming or scripting experience with Python, YAML, C#, or TypeScript.
• Knowledge of product quality assurance, non-conformance management, and safety risk mitigation.
