TL;DR
Senior Employee Relations Specialist (HR Investigations and Compliance): Managing complex employee relations matters and conducting impartial workplace investigations with an accent on conflict resolution, performance management, and employment-law compliance. Focus on analyzing sensitive workplace concerns, preparing investigative reports, advising leaders and employees, and developing HR training and policy resources.

Location: In person in Bozeman, Montana, United States

Salary: $77,000 annually, commensurate with experience, education, and qualifications.

hirify.global is a higher education institution with an Employee & Labor Relations department serving university administrators, faculty, and staff.

What you will do

  • Advise HR Business Partners, managers, supervisors, and staff on employee relations matters, policy interpretation, performance management, corrective action, and disciplinary processes.
  • Intake and assess workplace conflicts, complaints, performance concerns, and other requests for assistance.
  • Conduct prompt, impartial, and thorough internal investigations into workplace complaints and allegations of misconduct.
  • Prepare investigative reports, evaluate findings, and recommend corrective or remedial actions.
  • Support conflict resolution, constructive communication, respectful workplace practices, and effective working relationships.
  • Develop and deliver training, HR resources, policies, reports, and proactive employee relations initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources administration, labor or industrial relations, business or public administration, or a related field, plus at least five years of recent and relevant professional HR experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Demonstrated experience managing employee relations matters, conducting internal investigations, and resolving complex workplace concerns.
  • Working knowledge of human resources laws, regulations, principles, and practices.
  • Experience analyzing complex HR issues, developing practical solutions, and providing consultation or guidance across organizational levels.
  • Experience developing and delivering training, learning resources, or organizational development programs.
  • Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheets, databases, presentations, email, internet tools, and other standard software applications.

Nice to have

  • Master’s degree in Human Resources or a related field.
  • Human resources experience in a higher education environment.
  • Professional HR certification such as SHRM-CP or HRCI.
