Loan Consultant (Mortgage Lending)

Location: MO - Kansas City TMHF Office; regular reporting to the division, corporate office, or community is required.

What you will do

• Guide customers in selecting loan products and securing loan approval.
• Prequalify prospective buyers and take complete, accurate mortgage applications.
• Collect supporting documents, fees, lock-in information, and required disclosures.
• Originate loans and oversee their status from application through closing.
• Collaborate with builder partners and internal division employees to support home sales.
• Review files for compliance and quality, provide status updates, and respond to customer inquiries.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of mortgage lending experience in the current lending environment or successful completion of an internal training program.
• Current Residential Mortgage Loan Originator state license required.
• Knowledge of FNMA, FHLMC, FHA, VA, and USDA lending guidelines.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to manage a sizable, high-volume loan pipeline, strict deadlines, and builder backlog requirements.
• Professional oral and written communication, multitasking, customer service, and Microsoft Suite skills.
