Senior Fund Accountant

Location: Hybrid work model in South Africa, Cape Town/Bellville

What you will do

• Oversee daily, weekly, and monthly NAV calculations for investment funds using Hi-Portfolio and pControl.
• Verify and reconcile fund holdings, cash balances, investor cashflows, unit balances, and transfer agency records.
• Capture audit, management, and performance fees and produce unit trust income distributions.
• Maintain compliance with regulatory standards, risk mitigation procedures, and established deadlines.
• Improve fund accounting workflows, document process enhancements in the SOP repository, and leverage technology for efficiency.
• Collaborate with clients, operations teams, auditors, custodians, transfer agents, and other service providers; train colleagues and new joiners.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Accounting, Finance, Investment Management, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in fund accounting, investment administration, or financial services.
• Knowledge of asset management, financial markets, and investment instruments.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the wider Microsoft Office suite.
• Ability to work with Hi-Portfolio and pControl or similar investment accounting platforms, troubleshoot client queries, and prepare audit control documentation.
• Knowledge of PowerBI and Finswitch.

Nice to have

• Experience with hedge funds, unit trusts, private equity, or pension funds.
• Experience implementing practical AI applications to improve existing and future processes.
